Thanks for the great effort Raghunath.
Quick question on Bank Nifty options, are these BNF option strategies based on weekly/month end options ?

hi raghu, great tool! One minor suggestion, You can add a link next to each item, which will take to options_builder page with the prefilled positions to get the current status of the strategy during market hours.

Ok. I am thinking of relating current open interest data with roc and pop. Not sure of the mathematical model…need to further ideate.

    Hi,

I would really appreciate if you can give some guidance on how one can use the option screener tool you have created. A short description on the methodology on how to go about selecting the right strategy/stock using the screener based on its POP and ROC.

Whether liquid options of the next month series are considered, prior to shortlisting is done by your algorithm, particularly in the last week prior to expiry day. This will be useful, as the gamma risk is high in the last week of current series for sellers, and sellers would prefer to look good strategies with high pop and roc in the next series.

Please add Min ROC column also like a guaranteed return on premium within 1SD move. Thanks Raghunath, your work needs an appreciation.

Hi Raghu, Quick check, is the Option screener updated for today EOD, 9/25/2017? I still see the old data. Could you please add the updated time as well if possible.

In the screener tool, please add a column for Spot price for Stocks. Currently it is shown in yr chart but not in tool.
Have to look elsewhere for it.
You may add only once at top of screener for Nifty and BankNifty.

    Hi Raghunath,

This website is really impressive, and thank you for the effort you are putting in to share your work and research, that’s really noble of you. What I wanted to ask is, are the above strategies still active and what is the time frame you intend to hold these positions?

    Dear Raghunath,

Excellent work, it’s helping me a lot. Just wanted to know which are the new rows you added in daily, would be possible to add one column of date which can be filtered.

    Thanks.

Awesome work. Would happily pay a reasonable fee for a real-time/5 min delay version. Also in the future version, can you add Zerodha buttons to directly populate order in their Kite system (using their API). Screener needs column for current IV percentile and current stock price. I also get different premium / margin when placing order so may be that needs to be tweaked.

I have a question regarding high IV percentile (80%) filter. It will work beautifully for Sell/Short strategy but would it not be less profitable for Option Buy/Long strategies? I always though one would BUY Options with LESS Volatility hoping to sell them at high volatility and SELL with HIGH volatility hoping to buy them at lower volatility. Please enlighten.
    Cheers, DT

Thanks for the comments & feedback.

Real-time will not make sense for a screener. It should be more like an opportunity finder. May be an half-hourly or hourly screening should be fine.

May be in future I can add the zerodha buttons but not right away. Since the screener is a EOD based scanner the margins/premium will be based on yesterdays data & will be different the next day.

You have a point regarding the high IV percentile filter. I will put another filter of <20% IVP, so that it can be useful for long option strategies.

    Hi Raghunath,
Excellent tool and overall whole website full of information.
In Options Screener, you would be producing the strategies for current month (NEAR Month, Dec 28, 2017 expiry). If possible, can you please write in the same in the chart generated.

Also, one suggestion, when we click on the link for “Link to Pay-Off Graph”, can this render similar to data produced for Option-Builder:
    http://www.traderslounge.in/options-builder/

Also, can the output be saved in csv/xml format so that, we can re-import and get the updates for the strategy until it gets closed.

Hope to see above implemented to make the tool even more better.

    Regards,
    Anjani Singh

On 30 Dec 2017 I found following long and short straddles in “Index option Screener”

    NIFTY Long Straddle +1X 10550CE +1X 10550PE 58.84% 1052.69% ₹ 13,728.75 NIFTY-Long Straddle
    NIFTY Short Straddle -1X 10550CE -1X 10550PE 55.3% 16.85% ₹ 1,14,423.15 NIFTY-Short Straddle

These are same pair of contracts for long and short straddles.
My question is how can probability of profit is more than 50% for both the cases.
At least for same long and short of same pair POP should add up to 100%. Any thing I am missing here.

    Hi Raghu,
Yesterday, I saw the below 2 for GAIL in the option screener

    Long Broken Wing Butterfly -2X 450CE +1X 380CE +1X 480CE
    Long Butterfly -2X 450CE +1X 380CE +1X 470CE

Is there any mistake in this? I ould not understand how the ROI and the graph was arrived at..as quotes for 380 strike was not available..
The 2nd one also shd be broken wing..right?

    Thanks & Regards

Calculations are based on yesterday’s EOD data. Those prices not available today, so not valid anymore. That’s why I put a “Get Fresh Pay-off” button at the bottom of graph to check the current status.

Hi. This is a great resource. Just one suggestion. Can we open the graph in a new window instead of the same? So that we can compare multiple strategies side by side.
